A Bright Mountain-Inspired Wedding at the Sonnenalp Resort of Vail in Vail, Colorado
Kelly Young (34 and an attorney) and Dan Campbell (28 and a financial analyst) met at business school at the University of Colorado, Boulder, but it wasn't until after they had graduated that the two decided to get together. Not long after, Dan proposed on the beach in Maui, where the couple was visiting on vacation. "We love to travel, so I didn't think twice when we planned our vacation!" says Kelly. "We had a few days left of our vacation and it was great to have that time to relax and celebrate together and of course call all of our friends and family." Vail, CO seemed like the ideal place to tie the knot for the couple, who frequent the mountain village as often as possible in the summer and winter. "We loved that Vail offered something for everyone — hiking, shopping, etc. It was important that our guests felt like they had a fun and relaxing vacation, since many of them were traveling from all over the country and as far away as Dubai and Australia," says Kelly. To highlight the locale, the couple incorporated Vail-inspired details into the decor, including handmade table name signs that looked like the trail markers of some of the couple's favorite runs at Vail. A bright color palette of pink, purple and blue felt cheerful and fun, with vibrant blooms and table linens perking up the rustic venue.
