Erik Nagao (30 and a graduate school student) and Rob Dunn (33 and an attorney) met at work, sitting across the hall from each other. “Rob jokes that ours was a relationship built on love and laziness, since we worked with each other and lived only five blocks from each other,” Eriko says. Three and a half years later, Rob proposed with an “autobiography” book he created of his life waiting for Eriko. The last page was the story of how he asked her father for his blessing. “I was thrilled and elated,” Eriko says. “And just so touched by the gesture of the book and the words exchanged with my father.”After the proposal, the couple debated wedding colors. “We had too much trouble deciding on wedding colors, so we went with all of them! Lots of bright, happy colors!” Their fun, relaxed and cheerful day all took place at the Inn at Mystic in Mystic, Connecticut.

Eriko’s hair was styled in a half-up, half-down look, embellished with white orchid flowers for a whimsical, romantic feel.
After scouring the internet and magazines, Eriko finally began picturing herself in a long, elegant lace dress fitted and slightly flared with a light shoulder jacket for the ceremony.
Rob wore a vibrant boutonniere full of colorful green, yellow and pink flowers with a large calla lily as the focal point.
Groomsmen wore gray suits for the casual outdoor ceremony and kept with the vibrant, rainbow color format in bright, varied ties.
Eriko’s bridesmaids each wore a different colored gown in a vibrant shade of the rainbow from David’s Bridal.
The focal point of the ceremony was a large white trellis, strung up with garlands of white, hand-folded paper cranes and lined with vibrant, rainbow-colored floral arrangements.
Eriko and Rob exchanged vows beneath a whimsical trellised wedding arch on the day of their ceremony.
Tiny, hand-folded paper cranes in a multitude of bright and metallic hues were fixed to pitched escort cards and also designated each guest’s table.
The reception took place outdoors beneath a large, billowy tent. It’s decor was all white, aside from the vibrant pops of color in all the shades of the rainbow.
