A Bright, Simple Wedding at Lewis Ginter Gardens in Henrico, Virginia
Starry Simmons (30 and an office supervisor) and Michael Schwartz (33 and in logistics management) were celebrating their anniversary at their home when Mike got a call from the office. He told Starry that he had to go in to work and that he needed her help with something in the other room. Starry entered the room to find an array of presents in different sizes, and the smallest one was her engagement ring. Starry and Mike decided to get married at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Henrico, Virginia, which happened to be the location of their first date. Their simple wedding had a bright color palette of yellow and white. Burlap and lace lined the dining tables, which had centerpieces of yellow daisies and baby's breath in mason jars. As favors, Starry and Mike gave their guests mason jars filled with homemade cinnamon spiced pecans. Starry says her simple wedding was the perfect celebration for her and Mike. "In life, it's not about how much you have, but how much you enjoy it," she says. "The venue doesn't have to be huge, the guest list doesn't have to be massive. Invite people who are closest to you, the ones that make you happy and support you."
