A Bright Yellow and Gray Wedding at Kimball Ballroom in Columbia, Missouri

Nothing says "welcome" like a cheerful yellow wedding color. Alyssa Patzius (25 and in content marketing) and Mike Patzius (25 and a home loan officer) used the hue to brighten their decor and welcome friends and family to Columbia, Missouri. "While St. Louis was our home, our whole relationship was based in Columbia," Alyssa says. "We also planned to stay in 'CoMo' for the near future, so it was the perfect chance to show off our new hometown to our family and friends.” Courtney Tompson Photography captured every moment, as Alyssa and Mike started the day with a church ceremony. After they exchanged vows (and a few laughs), all moved the celebration to the Kimball Ballroom. A city-inspired sign and a large, yellow Missouri-inspired guest book marked the entrance to their reception. Inside, yellow and gray table numbers with moments from Alyssa and Mike's relationship accented each centerpiece of lush greenery and yellow blooms from Addie Jane Originals. Gray ribbon was wrapped around each breakaway vase. Their wedding cake also matched the arrangements as bakers from Hy-Vee wrapped each square tier in the same gray patterned ribbon and strips of yellow. Our favorite part was on the dance floor with a DJ from Complete Music. “The dance floor was crazy the entire reception. We had break-dancing competitions, the worm, you name it,” Alyssa says. “We had high expectations for the evening and our guests didn't disappoint." Alyssa, Mike and their guests continued celebrating at a nearby rooftop bar well into the next morning. For future newlyweds, she shares one reminder: “As long as your partner is with you, the day can't go wrong.”
