A Calligraphy-Inspired Garden Wedding at Green Gates at Flowing Lake in Snohomish, Washington

Stacy McCullough (26 and a calligrapher and a rental company owner) and Jonathan Pittsford (30 and a mechanical engineer) celebrated their nuptials with a rustic garden wedding at Green Gates, overlooking Flowing Lake in Snohomish, Washington. “We loved the crisp look of greenery,” Stacy says. “That, along with vintage silver and the barn venue, brought everything together. From the fern stamps on all the stationery to the garlands throughout the venue, we made sure all the little details were cohesive.” DIY details brought the wedding to life and added a personal touch. Stacy penned the whimsical calligraphy on the invitation suite and signs and incorporated beautiful furniture and decor from the rental company, Snohomish Rental, that she co-owns with her maid of honor. Stacy and Jon made greenery garlands together the day before their wedding and also worked together to create their escort card display. They said “I do” under a rustic wooden arbor, which now stands in their backyard. “It’s so great to bring many elements from that day into our home to remember,” Stacy says. After dinner and dancing in the Green Gates’s barn, guests gave Stacy and Jon a celebratory steamer exit before the couple drove off in a vintage 1962 Rolls-Royce. —Marissa Hermanson
