A Casual, DIY Wedding at De Nieuwe Erf in Diessen, Netherlands

For their wedding, Amanda Ooijen (28 and a content marketer) and Jan Roeffen (29 and a human resources professional) wanted to get away with their friends for the weekend. They hosted their wedding celebration at De Nieuwe Erf, a farmhouse in Diessen, a village at the border of the Netherlands and Belgium. The outdoor ceremony was decorated with simple, natural details. "We wanted a relaxed, country atmosphere," Amanda says. The altar area was set up with a birch wood wedding arch that was decorated with greenery and a wooden sign with the couple's monograms. The couple sat under this arch on a wooden bench during the ceremony. Amanda and Jan decorated the following reception with tons of pretty DIY details—everything from the hanging paper lanterns to the Polaroid-themed photo booth was made by Amanda and Jan. The newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a barbecue meal followed by a candy bar for dessert. Our favorite details? Amanda and Jan's chic wedding attire. Amanda wore a gorgeous modern ball gown with a lace bodice and a ruffled skirt. Jan wore a fitted blue suit with a light blue vest and a floral blue tie. After dancing all night, the newlyweds and their friends slept over at the farmhouse and enjoyed brunch together in the morning. Raisa Zwart Photography captured the day—see more, below.
