Jackie Pifer (37 and a nurse) and Robert Haines (36 and works in account management) met through mutual friends. He proposed at a Kansas City hotel in front of a giant Christmas tree with a beautiful vie of the Plaza lights. Almost two years later, Jackie and Robert exchanged vows at Fossil Trace Golf Course. The ceremony took place on the green next to a small pond with gorgeous views of the mountains. Instead of a unity candle, the couple planted a tree together for a more personal, rustic tradition. They wanted their wedding to be casual and comfortable, so they let their wedding party wear whatever they wanted. Jackie even wore sparkly silver Vans for her outdoor wedding. Directly after the ceremony, the newlyweds took a spin in a golf cart for a few minutes alone before the reception. The indoor reception was decorated with paper flowers and battery operated branch lights for a little DIY flair. Jackie also made her fabric flower bouquet with lavender chiffon, brown burlap and white lace flowers. Das Meyer Bakery made the fall-inspired three-layer cake complete with yellow sugar flower leaves cascading down the front. At the end of the night, the couple and their guests took shuttles into downtown Golden for the celebration to last into the night.

Robert proposed with a three-stone diamond engagement ring. “He chose the ring all by himself and it's perfect,” Jackie says. He wore a simple, classic silver band.

Jackie gave her bridesmaids different colored metal puzzle piece necklaces as gifts to remind them of their connection to one another.
The bridesmaids wore their own dresses in whatever color they wanted for a fun, casual, personalized look. “We wanted our wedding party to be as comfortable as possible,” Jackie says.

The ring bearers carried in a DIY chalkboard sign that said, “Last Chance to Run” for a little comic relief at the ceremony.
“We wanted an outdoor location with mountain views,” Jackie says. “The ceremony spot was so beautiful that it didn’t even need decorations.” The couple exchanged vows on the greenery at the golf course next to a pond.
