A Casual, Gardening-Inspired Wedding at Quailcrest Farm in Wooster, Ohio

Erica Hamner (29 and a student accounts counselor) and Allen Balaj (28 and a software developer) had a casual, botanical-filled wedding at Quailcrest Farm in Wooster, Ohio. “One of our first dates together was to the Cleveland Botanical Garden and we enjoy gardening together, so we wanted to incorporate growing things into our wedding,” says the bride. In addition to a few signs that said “Love Grows,” the couple had their venue grow herbs that became the centerpieces for their reception tables, DIY flower arrangements and filled their wedding with galvanized buckets brimming with flowers and herbs. The palette of navy, sage and champagne with pops of mint reflected the couple’s favorite colors and kept the atmosphere light and natural. “We wanted to see ourselves in the wedding celebrations, and I think we succeeded,” says the bride.
