A Casual Urban Wedding at Castle Hall in Detroit, Michigan
Flowers took center stage at Lauren Lee and Matthias Botcher’s modern wedding at Castle Hall. “The space had great bones, and we just wanted to enhance what was already there,” Lauren says. “We wanted to have everything feel organic and easy.” Greenery-filled arrangements with red, orange, yellow and pink flowers anchored the simple indoor ceremony site. They also completed the bride’s stunning (and heavy!) bouquet, which popped against her bohemian-inspired BHLDN dress. Matthias opted for gray pants and a vest, a navy blue textured suit jacket, gold shirt, bow tie and handkerchief. After the Christian ceremony, which included a song performed by the groom, the newlyweds took portraits on Castle Hall’s rooftop overlooking the Detroit skyline. Then they headed indoors for the casual reception. Gold chargers, blue napkins and bright floral centerpieces added to the overall vibe. A two-tier white wedding cake with flower details ended the night on a sweet note.
Our favorite #MakeTradition Moment: “The most special moment to me was when Matthias sang a song to me during the ceremony. I was not expecting it to happen, and the words were so beautiful. In that moment it really felt like it was only me and him,” Lauren says.
