A Casual Vintage Wedding at The Barn at High Points Farm in Flintstone, Georgia
Kelsey Powell (24 and a special education teacher) and Evan Webb (32 and an operations manager) first met at a friend's house. "It was kind of a blind date type of thing, but the kind where you don't talk to each other because you're too busy playing Dance Central on Xbox with your friend and he's outside grilling with his buddy," says Kelsey. Mutual texting lead way to the start of their relationship and the pair dated for three years before Evan popped the question during their anniversary dinner. After Kelsey shared the news and posted a picture of her new engagement ring on Facebook, the pair began planning their rustic barn wedding at The Barn at High Points Farm in Flintstone, Georgia. "Our ceremony was outside of a barn, in the grove at the foot of Lookout Mountain just before sunset," says Kelsey. "My dad built us an arbor for us to stand under just for the occasion!" After the ceremony, guests had the opportunity to feed the goats and play cornhole while the newlyweds finished taking pictures. Pigeon Mountain Grill catered a laid-back reception complete with a chocolate groom's cake and red velvet cupcakes. The flexible venue offered a variety of decor items for Kelsey and Evan to work with for their "rustic garden" theme including wood slabs and stumps, Shepherd's hooks and chalkboard signs. "I also had a table set up with pictures in memory of my late grandparents," says Kelsey. "I wanted it to feel like they were with me on one of the most important days of my life!"
