Brandi Waal (26, a DECE Employee) and Eric Head's (36, a Computer Programmer) casual, DIY wedding was filled with nods to things the couple loves. They couple exchanged vows at a small chapel at Waterloo Region Museum in their hometown of Kitchener, Ontario, where Eric's brothers were married. The color palette was blue and purple, Brandi and Eric's favorite colors. Owls were a reoccurring motif throughout the wedding, popping up frequently in the decor (the cupcake picks were tiny cartoon owls). Brandi and her bridesmaids made their own bouquets out of felt, buttons and vintage brooches, a neat DIY touch that allowed everyone to showcase their unique style through their bouquet. The groomsmen wore blue and purple felt boutonnieres to match the bouquets. Whimsical touches throughout the wedding, like the bridesmaids and groomsmen wearing blue and purple high top Converse shoes, a slushy machine available during dinner, and classic board games at every table for guests to play during the reception, made Brandi and Eric's wedding fun and unique to them. "Eric and I are easy going people, like big kids, so we wanted our wedding to reflect that," Brandi says. Check out more photos by Melissa Avey Photography below!
