A Charming Fairytale Wedding at St. Clements Castle in Portland, Connecticut

Karin Goodwin (28 and a photographer) and Andrew Wadhams (28 and in health care) met through mutual friends in high school. They became good friends with one another as their groups spent more time together but didn't begin dating until 7 years later. As Christmas approached, Andrew suggested he and Karin exchange their gifts early. He brought her over to the tree with her eyes closed and when she opened them he was set to propose. The bride and groom knew their guests would need to travel and wanted a venue that could hold both their ceremony and reception which is where they found St. Clements Castle. Their ceremony was held in the immaculate stone courtyard surrounded by moss and wild greenery while a string quartet played in the background. Inside the castle at the reception, a soft color palette coated the room in blush pink and ivory with muted metal features. The centerpieces were intricate brass vases of tall twigs and exotic greens accompanied by bright and ivory mixed flowers. Tables were numbered with pictures of the bride and groom growing up and small Disney fairytale themed decorations. Karin and Andrew left personal boxes of chocolate for each of their guests as a thank you for celebrating with them.
