Zach Berry (23 and a veterinary student) met Jenna Locklear (20 and a dental hygienist) after he started volunteered at the local veterinary office where Jenna's aunt worked. She was skeptical at first when Zach texted about starting a relationship but within five months of dating, the pair got engaged. "Zach asked me to marry him at the base of the waterfall while our friends stayed above and took pictures of the most perfect moment!" says Jenna. "I was so surprised but never questioned it one bit—he told me that he knew in his heart that I was the one God made for him." As soon as Jenna received her custom, vintage-inspired engagement ring, she excitedly began planning their colorful summer wedding at her family’s farm in Danville, Alabama. It took a lot of hard work, especially from Jenna's dad, to get space wedding-ready. "I wanted a simple open green field, with a tree line as the background for our ceremony," says Jenna. "Our wedding was rustic because it was outdoors, but had a traditional feel with 72 white benches—built by my dad—and simple wildflowers in galvanized buckets lining the aisle." The farm's red barn and the groom's navy gingham tie inspired their bold color palette and vibrant swigs of golden rods popped throughout the rustic wood, antique and DIY decor. Along with a tiered buttercream cake, the newlyweds served two satellite strawberry shortcake cakes topped with fresh berries. "We wanted to add in little personal touches like berries on our satellite cakes and our "Berry" lemonade since our married last name is Berry!" says Jenna. The guests had an evening full of dancing before sending the newlyweds off with a sparkler send-off ( representing the couple beginning their romance near the Fourth of July) and watching them drive off in an old 1965 Chevrolet.

"The bridesmaids dresses were from Forever21, not your traditional place to buy them, but with our simple wedding theme, I also wanted to find them simple dresses," says Jenna.
The bridesmaids carried a single stem of golden rod tied with twine along with a vintage handkerchief.
The groomsmen wore tan tuxes without jackets, with gingham ties that inspired the navy color palette. rn

"Our wedding was at my family farm in Danville, Alabama, right behind my parent's house," says. "This location was very special to us because it is where I grew up and where my parents and grandparents live—it will always have the best memories of where our own Berry family began!"
