A Chic Country Wedding at Atwood Ranch in Glen Ellen, California
Lindsay Scheel (32 and works in fundraising) and Andy Kalyvas’s (26 and a record label producer) fall wedding in Glen Ellen, Calif. was the picture of rustic romance. Inspired by a poem Andy wrote to Lindsay on their first Valentine’s Day, the couple could think of no better spot to tie the knot than a quaint vineyard in Wine Country.
The day started with an intimate ceremony in Sonoma, in which Lindsay and Andy shared heartfelt vows against a backdrop of sunkissed vines. Though the couple kept the decor simple, French country chairs decorated with bunches of ivory and blush roses and an aisle lined with white petals perfectly achieved the romantic aesthetic they hoped to achieve.
A reception at the Atwood Ranch in Glen Ellen followed, where the newlyweds and their closest family members and friends celebrated in a chic, historic barn. Hundreds of brightly lit candles, bistro lights and Edison bulb chandeliers filled the space with warm, ambient light. Instead of traditional wedding fare, the couple and their guests dined on delicious burgers and fries from Gott’s food truck, gathering around long farm-style tables dressed to charming effect with linen runners and bunches of baby’s breath, roses and hydrangeas in mason jar vases. “We had a wonderful wine selection from various Sonoma wineries and a milk and cookie bar instead of cake,” says Lindsay.
The Speakeasies provided jazz and blue tunes during dinner, while guests noshed on good ol’ American cuisine, then transitioned to upbeat Motown classics to get everyone in the mood to celebrate.
