A Chic, Minimalist Elopement at Jeffrey's in Austin, Texas
Diya Ajit (35 and an entrepreneur) planned and designed her wedding to Brett Eggleston (37 and a special assistant to the deputy Secretary of State) right down to her showstopping ensemble in all of four months. “I was surrounded by visual inspiration daily while a director at Vogue Arabia,” Diya says. “Both Brett and I like to keep a beautiful home filled with plants, flowers, music and fine food, and our wedding was simply an extension of our natural style.” The Washington, DC–based pair invited 14 guests to the Four Seasons for a ceremony on the banks of Lady Bird Lake. They looked on from chairs covered in tulle and white blooms as the duo wed under a floral arch. An à la carte dinner followed at Jeffrey’s restaurant. Glittery Jimmy Choo pumps paired with statement pearl and crystal Kenneth Jay Lane earrings completed Diya’s ceremony look. Diya designed her winter-white, one-shoulder jumpsuit with Japanese silk crepe. It featured a large shoulder embellishment, as well as a detachable “cape” that acted as a cathedral-length train when layered under her crystal-encrusted tulle veil. “It was a contemporary design inspired by the runway but meant to be worn again, sans cape and veil,” Diya says. After enjoying a gluten-free buttercream chocolate cake with ganache, the newlyweds exited through sparklers and hopped in a limo.
