Who says a wedding has to be over-the-top to be absolutely stunning? Kinsey Query (29 and a physical therapist assistant) and Collins Atkinson (30 and a staffing manager for Robert Half) used a simple white and gray color palette for their ultra-chic, timeless wedding, which was brought to life with the help of Cory Lambert from Sage Innovations. We love Kinsey’s amazing Amsale ball gown with the textured rosette skirt and ruching on the bodice. The wedding dress inspired many of the day's details, including the ornate four-tier wedding cake (from Wedding Cakes by Jim Smeal) that had alternating layers of roses and geometric lines. Wanting a venue that matched their elegant style, Kinsey and Collins chose Harborside East in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, for the reception because of its swoon-worthy views over the Charleston Harbor. The couple utilized all the space, including outdoor tables overlooking the harbor, outdoor tables that were covered by the building and, of course, classic reception seating inside. Each section was adorned with white and gray linens and different lush floral arrangements from Palmetto Petals—everything from towering green and white florals to white lanterns surrounded by hydrangeas—which added a little garden romance to the site. One of the best parts, though, was the personalized Cigar Row cigar bar, which guests could smoke on the gray and white lounge furniture (complete with monogrammed pillows). The bridesmaids wore floor-length gray dresses from the Dessy Group. Kinsey and Collins loved how the dresses matched the neutral color palette and looked fabulous on each of the bridesmaids.
Ornate Black-and-Brown-Striped Bow Tie
Kinsey and Collins exchanged vows at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, because it was the church Kinsey grew up in. As an added bonus, the officiant was the same minister who baptized Kinsey as a baby.
White and Green Floral Altar Decor
Kinsey wore an Amsale wedding dress she fell in love with years before her wedding. She loved the ball-gown silhouette, textured skirt and champagne color. She added a beaded belt at the reception for a little extra sparkle.
Simple, Stylish Low Updo Bridal Hairstyle
Wanting to add a lounge area for guests to smoke cigars (from the cigar bar they provided), they had an outdoor seating area that matched the wedding colors. The sofas were topped with monogrammed pillows for a little added personalization.
Since their reception venue, Harborside East, had gorgeous views of the Charleston Harbor, the couple took advantage of the outside space with a lounge area and tables for seating. The tables were decorated with white chiavari chairs, gray table linens and white lantern centerpieces.
For a little romantic light, the cocktail-hour tables were topped with white lanterns filled with white pillar candles. Each lantern was surrounded by modern square glass vases filled with white hydrangeas.
Wanting to take advantage of both the indoor and outdoor space, Kinsey and Collins had seating in all the available space. They had a lounge area on the patio overlooking the harbor and covered seating also on the patio, plus additional seating inside.
The reception tables were topped with glass vases filled with white hydrangeas, white sweet peas and white tulips. Each arrangement was surrounded my mercury-glass votive candles for a little added romance.
Textured, Metallic Reception Table Linens
The reception tables were topped with antique silver vases filled with lush white floral arrangements including roses, sweet peas and orchids. Kinsey and Collins loved how the centerpieces brought the outside in and gave a simple, timeless feel to the soiree.

Wedding Cakes by Jim Smeal created a gorgeous, ornate four-tier white cake. Kinsey and Collins wanted the cake to echo the design of Kinsey’s stunning Amsale ball gown. The cake alternated between rosettes and geometric stripes.
