A Classic Ballroom Wedding with a Nautical Twist at Clarks Landing Yacht Club in Point Pleasant, New Jersey
Caitlin Nugent (29, an ad sales executive) and Kevin Clancy (29, a blogger and podcast host) met at a bar. "We were total strangers but once we started talking, we found out we had a ton in common—including many mutual friends," says Caitlin. Kevin proposed in their apartment with the help of a little model home he built. He put the ring inside the front door and told Caitlin to open it. When she opened the door, Kevin got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. "Once we got engaged, Kevin and I began looking at venues in the Jersey Shore (where she vacationed as a child) area and within seconds of walking into Clark's Landing we knew that was going to be the place for our reception," recalls Caitlin. "It's magical. The waterfront marina with beautiful sunset views won us over immediately." Combining their love for the fall (the season they met!) and the beach, the couple came up with a "cool but classy" vibe for their nuptials, brought to life by a mix of deep purple, light blue and silver. A subtle starfish theme, which extended from the invitations to the wedding cake, tied it all together.
