A Classic Black-and-White Vineyard Wedding at Silvan Ridge Winery in Eugene, Oregon

Not long after Gary Carpenter (24 and in marketing/merchandising) and Paul Kelly (35 and a director of technical account management) started dating, Gary tried Silvan Ridge Early Muscat wine and fell in love with the taste. Paul took him to Silvan Ridge Winery in Eugene, Oregon, so the venue was the first to come to mind when planning their wedding day. "One of the many reasons we chose Silvan Ridge Winery as our venue was because it just felt like home," Gary says. "It wasn't too fancy, too elegant or too pretentious. It just felt like a good friend invited you over for a wedding." They brought a classic style to life with a black-and-white color scheme, letting the natural vineyard landscaping do the rest of the decorating. Their ceremony took place outside on the patio, with a backdrop of the rolling hills on the property captured by Stevi Sayler Photography. Gary and Paul incorporated a bit of tradition by playing "Here Comes the Bride" for the processional at the ceremony, where they walked down the aisle wearing matching black tuxedos and white vests. The party moved inside for the reception, where guests found their seats with classic black-and-white escort cards on elegant dining-table displays. And we loved how friends and family members left their mark at the wedding, pressing their thumbprint on one of the branches on a painted tree, done by one of Paul's groomsmen. "Very simple cleanup, and we now have a piece of artwork to hang in our home created by our loved ones," Gary says. See more of the classic vineyard details we loved, below.
