A Classic, Blush Wedding at St. Catherine University in Saint Paul, Minnesota
Maria Sevenich (25 and a nurse practitioner) and Clay Horne (25 and a public accountant) wanted to keep their summer wedding classic. Maria and Clay exchanged vows at Our Lady of Victory Chapel at St. Catherine University. “My mother and grandmother both attended the university, so we felt a deep connection with the chapel,” Maria says. “It’s such a beautiful space to begin with, we didn’t feel like we had to decorate at all.” Their only decorations were ivory floral arrangements at the end of each pew. During the ceremony, Clay’s mother sang a version of John Lennon’s “Grow Old With Me." After the ceremony, the couple not only enjoyed their traditional wedding cake, but offered guests four other flavors, including chocolate turtle and tres leches. One of the reception’s featured dishes was a Parmesan-crusted walleye so guests could enjoy a popular local fish. A neutral palette and tall, extravagant centerpieces wowed guests as they swayed to a live band after dinner. “Enjoy every minute of the day because it goes by in a blink of an eye,” Maria says.
