A Classic Cape Cod Wedding at Wequassett Resort & Golf Club in Harwich, Massachusetts
Danielle and Nick Marchessault met on Cape Cod when they were 14 years old—so it's only fitting that they exchanged vows on the Massachusetts peninsula many years later. The wedding, which they called "coastal classic," had neutral color palette with soft grays, white and plenty of of greenery. The day started with a traditional Catholic ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Wellfleet. Danielle wore a simple V-neck gown with an overskirt and cathedral veil, while Nick donned a classic black suit and tie. Wequassett Resort and Spa housed the subsequent cocktail hour and reception overlooking Little Pleasant Bay. Guests headed to a 24-foot driftwood wall with 200 champagne glasses, which doubled as the escort card display. Tables featured greenery garlands with white flowers, candles and elegant calligraphed table numbers. "We also had custom sea glass pieces with each guests' name written in calligraphy," Danielle says. Perhaps the most memorable part of the day was an adoptable puppy display. "We surprised our wedding party and guests with a litter of adoptable puppies from Great Dog Rescue New England," Danielle says, adding that she owns a pet coordination company called For The Love Of Paws, where she helps couples incorporate their pets into their weddings. "Our goal was to help bring awareness to the rescue organization and get as many pups adopted as possible. I am extremely happy to say that they were, in fact, all adopted!"
