A Classic, Elegant Wedding at Society Room of Hartford in Hartford, Connecticut

Britta Koehler (26 and a dentist) and James Koehler (27 and an army dentist) met at their first day of dentistry school at Tufts University. With a stroke of fate, Britta and James were assigned to sit next to each other and after three years together, James proposed. On a romantic, winter walk, Britta and James walked through the streets of Boston where they had lived all throughout school. Under the streetlamp where they first kissed, James asked Britta to marry him. They decided to have their wedding at the elegant, Society Room of Hartford in Hartford, CT. The venue with its high ceilings, large windows and bronze accents was the perfect place for their formal wedding. "The Society Room of Hartford is already extremely ornate, so not much else was needed," Britta says. Their color palette of black and gold created a Gatsby-inspired look. Britta wore a strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline and lace overlay while James wore a classic, black tuxedo with a black bow tie. Their bridesmaids and groomsmen completed their formal style with long, black dresses and matching black tuxedos. Britta and James' wedding was classically elegant with its simple decor and formal setting.
