A Classic, Elegant Wedding at the Derrick Golf and Winter Club in Edmonton, Alberta
Alessandra Hecken (25 and a project manager) and Bradley Holinski (30 and a biomedical engineer) mixed classic and clean elements with white and orange colors to create their perfect elegant wedding at the Derrick Golf and Winter Club in Edmonton, Alberta. "Our wedding was indoors and featured a classic and traditional environment with hints of modern elements," Alessandra says. Shandro Photo captured the beautiful wedding, which started at the traditional St. Joseph Basilica church ceremony. "The wedding theme was clean and classic," Alessandra says. "We wanted a wedding that would be timeless, and one that we could look back at in 50 years and still find beautiful." Keeping with this vision style, Alessandra wore a strapless wedding dress with a trumpet-style fit and a beaded belt while Brad wore a formal black tuxedo with a black tie and a bright orange pocket square tying in the wedding day colors of white, gray and orange. "We chose white and gray to mellow out the orange accent and to keep the clean and classic theme," Alessandra says. The wedding day florist, Fabloomosity, created pretty arrangements using garden roses, peonies, ranunculus and hydrangeas. Centerpieces included peach roses and white hydrangeas with greenery and floating candles in glass vases. Even with the beautiful decor, Alessandra says, food played a heavy role in their wedding day. "Food is very important to us," she says, "We are self-described foodies." The Art of Cake designed Alessandra and Brad's lavish four-tier wedding cake with cascading orange flowers and delicious chocolate and lemon flavors. "The cake tied in our colors and theme beautifully," Alessandra says. "It was also delicious!"
