A Classic, Elegant Wedding at Weathervane Restaurant at Southern Season in Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Rita Morrison (27 and an attorney) and Joshua Morrison (34 and a business application's manager) got engaged after having to date long distance for six months. Josh took Rita on a trip to Savannah, GA in September 2013 where they planned to celebrate her birthday. To her surprise, Josh proposed to Rita at Wormsloe Plantation surrounded by lush moss trees where a photographer was on hand to capture the entire moment. They had their wedding at the Weathervane Restaurant at Southern Season in Chapel Hill, NC. "We chose this location because of the food's southern charm, the garden patio area and the size of the venue was perfect for the number of guests we had," Rita says. They kept their wedding decor simple with a pink, gray and ivory color palette. "Our wedding was an elegant garden affair," Rita describes. They said their vows under a beautiful chuppah with white drapery and white and pink flower accents. Arrangements of hydrangeas, roses, dusty miller and silver brunia decorated the ceremony and reception along with string lights and warm candle light. One piece of advice Rita has for others planning a wedding is to have a first look. "The memories and photos from that moment are absolutely amazing," she says. "We will cherish that private moment for the rest of our lives."
