A Classic, Fall-Inspired Wedding with Moroccan Flair at the University Club of Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Florida

With its vibrant berry-hued blooms, gold details (including a macaron-covered cake) and Moroccan accents, Sofia Mafrouz (24 and a promotions specialist) and Andre Perez’s (36 and an IT consultant) wedding honored both Sofia North African heritage and the deep colors of the season.

The city’s famed 250-year-old Treaty Oak tree provided the backdrop for Sofia and Andre’s romantic, Moroccan-inspired celebration. “I absolutely love trees and fell in love with the oak when I first visited Jacksonville four years ago,” Sofia says of the twisted branches that naturally decorated the ceremony spot.

Despite sharing a love for salsa dancing, Sofia and Andre surprised guests by performing a Viennese waltz during their reception. “We spent a year working on the choreography,” Sofia says of the first dance to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. “We had a blast performing it together.”
