A Classic Fall-Themed Wedding at Lake Lure Inn and Spa in Lake Lure, North Carolina
Inspired by autumn’s natural beauty, Melanie Miskovic (31 and works in customer service) and Zachary Pait (29 and a restaurant manager) planned an intimate fall wedding that paid tribute to the season. The pair whisked their closest friends and family members off to Lake Lure Inn and Spa in Lake Lure, North Carolina, for a lively fete, celebrating their nuptials in the same spot that Zach had proposed a year earlier. “Zach’s mother, who was also my coworker, set us up on a date. She sure knew what she was doing,” Melanie says. “A year later he proposed! We took a weekend trip to Lake Lure in October, and since it’s such a wonderful time of year, our parents joined us—little did I know, it was really because of the proposal.” From the outdoor ceremony overlooking the mountains to the cozy reception, seasonally inspired elements were woven throughout, infusing the decor with a spectrum of rich color and autumnal elegance. Brightly colored leaves, gourds and fall florals adorned the ceremony aisle, their cheerful hues popping against a backdrop of lush green. The fall aesthetic carried over to the reception, with bundles of seasonal greenery and blooms enlivening Lake Lure Inn and Spa’s elegant interiors. “We focused more on fall leaves and colors than flowers,” Melanie says. “We wanted our wedding to represent our surroundings and the season.” Carriage lanterns bearing ivory pillar candles cast a warm, ambient glow over the dining room, setting an undeniably romantic tone for the evening, while carved wooden dining chairs and classic ivory linens kept things grounded in timeless territory. —Libby MacCarthy
