A Classic, Glamorous Wedding at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia
Calyn Haley's family spent many Christmas vacations at The Greenbrier, so it was a fitting venue for her 215-guest wedding to Brian Haynes. "We wanted to make the wedding elegant with a modern twist, while incorporating some of the bright and vibrant colors that make the Greenbrier so special," Calyn says. The couple chose a color palette of baby blue, light pink, green, white and gold to bring their vision to life. The traditional ceremony took place in a chapel full of white flowers, greenery and glowing candles. "The church had a balcony where the band quietly entered through the back when the wedding had started. At the end of the ceremony, the band stood up from the balcony and started playing 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered.' The members of the bridal party all danced out of the chapel during the recessional," Calyn says. The bride and groom rode a horse and carriage to the cocktail hour, which featured escort cards hanging from trees with ribbons. The reception had many luxurious touches: tall centerpieces, mirrored chairs, flickering candles and more. The wedding cake was also glamorous with hand-painted details and fondant flowers. "We decided to have our wedding day black tie since it was a formal venue," Calyn says. "Brian wore a black tuxedo, and I wore a strapless Carolina Herrera wedding gown that was simple at the top, had a bow tied around the waist and flowers on the skirt." She accessorized with a simple veil with lace edges, drop diamond earrings and a bracelet.
