A Classic Gray and Yellow Wedding at Castle Farms in Charlevoix, Michigan
After meeting as mere high schoolers, Toree Johnston (26 and a teacher) and Ryan Winowiecki (27 and an oil rig operator) became fast friends and eventually began dating before getting engaged several years later. "He proposed in our kitchen since he was too excited to plan anything!" the bride says. For their classic wedding at Castle Farms in Charlevoix, the to-be-weds used a bright color palette of gray and yellow to bring their rustic reception to life. "There aren't many venues in northern Michigan large enough to fit 300 people and the venue itself was beautiful," the bride says. "I made all of the invitations myself and used mason jars and crates to create the daisy centerpieces." After exchanging vows in an outdoor ceremony on the castle grounds, the couple retreated to their indoor reception where they ended up celebrating with some unexpected guests across the way. "There was another wedding going on across the courtyard and they did a train through our dance floor, so we did the same back!" Toree says. "The other bride and I ended up dancing and taking pictures together!"
