A Classic, Modern Wedding at Tribeca Rooftop in New York City, New York
Asymmetrical arrangements, traditional Nigerian fare and vibrant emerald, gold and fuchsia details lent plenty of personal flair to Chinny Ogbuagu (32 and a digital marketer) and Chike Anugo’s (30 and a data and analytics consultant) rooftop nuptials.
“I like to say that we got married before God, guests and New York,” Chinny says of exchanging vows high above Manhattan. The pair chose not to decorate their open-air ceremony, as to not take away from the venue’s 360-degree views.
The couple lit a candle at the start of their rooftop ceremony in memory of Chike’s mother.
Dozens of candles topped round reception tables, where guests sat down to a meal of maple-glazed Chilean sea bass and cider and Guinness-braised short ribs. “The positive reviews of Tribeca Rooftop’s catering proved to be true,” Chinny says. “Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the menu.” The buttercream-covered carrot cake was filled with coeur à la crème—an indulgent mix of cream cheese and Grand Marnier.
