A Classic, Nautical Wedding at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, Connecticut
Keeping their wedding close to home, Sarah O'Brien (25 and a CT technologist) and Jaryd Keeley (25 and in the US Navy) had their classic, springtime wedding at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, Connecticut. Simply K Studios captured the pretty day from the ceremony on the North Lawn overlooking the Mystic River to the indoor reception in the River Room at Latitude 41 Restaurant filled with blush, gray and navy colors along with a few nautical accents. "The ceiling was all dark-chocolate wood, and the venue felt nautical without being too much," Sarah says. "The venue was cozy and comfortable." Sarah's beautiful Romona Keveza strapless, lace wedding dress featured a slight trumpet-style and a beaded belt, while Jaryd wore a gray suit with a navy tie. Keeping with the airy color palette, Sarah's bridesmaids wore strapless, blush dresses and Jaryd's groomsmen matched him wearing gray suits and navy ties. Jaryd's cousin created all the fresh flower arrangements used throughout the wedding day, including pink and white peonies for the bridal bouquet and peach and white roses for the small centerpieces. In the end, DJ Marty truly pulled together the relaxed, fun wedding with plenty of feel-good music. "Our DJ really reflected how we are as a couple," Sarah says. "We wanted our guests to have just as much fun as we were. We wanted them to feel comfortable, and the DJ kept right up."
