A Classic, Romantic Wedding at The Standard East Village in New York City
As professional models, Russian-born Anastasia Sushchenko and American-born Caleb Halstead met on a photo shoot in Australia in 2012. Fast-forward several years and the couple tied the knot in a modern, minimalist New York City wedding, choosing a color palette of cream and light green for the day. Anastasia stunned in a sleek, form-fitting wedding gown with cross-back straps, a sleek updo and a cathedral veil. "It looked very simple and beautiful—less is more," she says. Caleb complemented her in a classic black tuxedo and bow tie. The ceremony took place in the Ladies Pavilion in Central Park, where the couple stood against a lush landscape. Afterward, they headed to a reception at The Standard East Village. "The venue was completely white, and we wanted to have lots of green plants and flowers so it would be the main focus in that space," Anastasia says. To that end, they topped the crisp linens with plant centerpieces and placed greenery sprigs on guests' white napkins. Additional modern details included printed menus, candles on the sweetheart table and a two-tier wedding cake with frosting flowers.
