Stately architecture, artful arrangements of lush, romantic blooms and a color palette that fused bright summery hues with muted shades of sage, gray and metallic were key elements in bringing Alyse Liberman (27 and a registered nurse) and Dimitry Voronov’s (27 and an anesthesiologist) vision for their April nuptials to life. After choosing the Saint Louis Club to host their family members and friends, the couple enlisted the help of Katie Saeger Events and The Special Event Florist to put their personal stamp on the elegant venue. The day began with a traditional Jewish ceremony in the Club’s elegant ballroom, where the couple exchanged heartfelt vows under a birch huppah decorated ornately with cascades of tulips, hydrangeas, roses, stock and peonies in a spectrum of cheerful color. After saying their “I do’s,” Alyse and Dimitry mingled with guests while the ballroom was flipped for the reception. The transformation was striking with the tables dressed in classic white linens, silver and gold-edged dinnerware, colorful arrangements of eye-catching flora, votive candles and subtle mercury glass accents. While the decor lent the celebration a classic, sophisticated feel, the post-ceremony festivities were packed with energy and fun. Griffin and the Gargoyles got the couple’s families and friends in the mood to party after a traditional sit down dinner and Fish Eye Fun kept guests entertained all night long with their funky alternative to the traditional photo booth. A tip for the taking from Alyse: “Never forget what you are working towards; the ceremony was my favorite part of the whole day. Time flies on your wedding day, so don’t forget to have fun.”

To complement the wedding’s refined setting, Alyse and Dimitry opted to take the black tie route for their wedding party’s attire. For the girls, Alyse selected a convertible A-line gown from Jenny Yoo’s bridesmaid collection in a soft shade of grayish blue, which fit the formality of the affair while allowing her bridesmaids to customize their look. Dimitry went all out classic when it came to his groomsmen and had the guys don traditional black tuxedos from Men’s Warehouse.
To really make the bridesmaids’ bouquets pop, The Special Events Florist created the perfect balance of bright and muted hues. Lush garden roses, peonies and tulips in shades of peach, pink and white allowed the arrangements to stand out against the backdrop of the girls’ grayish-blue gowns, while elements like dusty miller and succulents complemented the hue of the Jenny Yoo designs, helping to keep their look feeling cohesive.
The evening started off with a ceremony at 6:30 in the Saint Louis Club’s elegantly appointed ballroom. Warm, ambient lighting and soft classical music played by Manhasset Strings set a romantic tone for the memorable affair. As Alyse made her way down the aisle, her father at her side, the string quartet filled the room with a lively rendition of Vivaldi’s “Spring from the Four Seasons, a fitting choice for the mid-April affair.
With a whimsical floral huppah serving as the focal point of the room, Alyse and Dimitry decided to keep the rest of the ceremony decor to a minimum. The couple had The Special Event Florist create small bundles of peach and coral peonies to line the aisle, an understated touch that introduced a hint of color and romance to the elegant ballroom.
Simplicity was key when it came to the ceremony decor, with Alyse and Dimitry adding a few understated bundles of peach-colored blooms to alternating rows lining the aisle. But for their huppah, the couple decided to go all out, making the traditional detail the focal point of the room. The Special Event Florist used tulips, hydrangeas, stock, roses and lilies in a cheerful, spring-inspired color palette to create a striking garland that cascaded down the birch structure, infusing the ballroom with energy and life.
Taking a cue from their decor, Alyse and Dimitry took a classic, yet playful approach to their wedding cake. The Saint Louis Club whipped up a four-tiered confection that was just as easy on the eyes as it was on the palate, with each tier displaying a sweet Swiss dot pattern layered over rich buttercream frosting. As a finishing touch, they added bunches of fresh coral and peach-colored blooms, tying the decadent treat into the wedding’s cheerful spring-inspired decor.
While The Special Event Florist’s eye-catching arrangements of vibrant spring blooms were the stars of Alyse and Dimitry’s decor, more subtle details like M. Haley Design’s elegant stationery were key in bringing the couple’s classic, timeless vision to life. Particularly of note were the silvery gray menu cards displayed on the metallic-edged chargers, which added depth and dimension to each place setting.
Alyse and Dimitry’s wedding day was all about fusing the cheerfulness of spring with timeless elegance. Working with Katie Saeger Events and The Special Event Florist, the couple took the Saint Louis Club’s refined interiors to the next level, dressing the reception tables with vibrant bunches of hydrangeas, stock, tulips, dusty miller, peonies and roses in eye-catching peach, yellow, coral and pink hues.
Traditional Formal Wedding Invitations
While much of the planning process revolves around planning out the aesthetics and focusing on the littlest of details, Alyse and Dimitry recommend taking a step back and reminding yourselves of what the day is really about. “Never forget what you are working towards: the ceremony was my favorite part of the whole day,” says Alyse. “Time flies on your wedding day, don’t forget to have fun.”
Jenny Packham is known for her vintage-inspired gowns that exude timeless elegance, so when Alyse heard about the designer’s trunk show at Ultimate Bride in Chicago, IL, she just knew she had to attend. A striking A-line design caught Alyse’s eye, the deep v-shaped neckline, soft draping, delicate lace and crystal accents giving the gown a touch of undeniable old Hollywood flair — the perfect complement to the Saint Louis Club’s stately interiors.
