A Classic Tented Wedding at Brecknock Hall in Greenport, New York

Trey Williams and Ian McManus wed on June 1, 2019, at a mansion in Greenport, New York. "Ian’s family has a summer home in Shelter Island and the entire North Fork region is very special to us. It's filled with memories of family and friends," the couple says. "Our venue, Brecknock Hall, allowed us to incorporate the region’s natural landscape with historical elements that we have always admired." The celebration started with an outdoor ceremony on the front lawn, which was decorated simply with a wooden wedding arch, greenery and white folding chairs. Ian’s brother officiated the secular ceremony, and it also included readings by both of their godmothers. Next up was an indoor/outdoor cocktail reception with high-top tables, followed by an elegant reception in a white sailcloth-inspired tent. The reception had a color palette of coastal neutrals with summer greens, plenty of candles and arrangements of white peonies and hydrangeas. "The neutral whites, paired with a mix of natural greenery, made the reception tent blend seamlessly with the surrounding grounds," the couple says. Trey and Ian are movie buffs, so they used fan art from their favorite movies as makeshift tables numbers. "Guests were assigned to My Cousin Vinny or Legally Blonde tables," the couple explains. "We also wanted to have a traditional lounge area with treats for the children who attended the wedding. It was important that we have something for everyone and we thought that this was a nice alternative to sitting under the tent where the main focus was music and dancing."
