A Classic, Traditional Wedding in Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix, Arizona

Yi Lu (29 and a computer hardware engineer) was one of the job interviewers for Matt Schneider (30 and a computer hardware engineer). Luckily, he did a great job, and shortly after he got hired he asked Yi to go on a hike to the Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona. “I would say hiking is what brought us together first, so I am really glad I went on that first hike with him!” says Yi. On a Valentine’s Day weekend Sedona, Arizona, Matt proposed in the middle of a hike. The two were married at Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix, Arizona. “The mansion sits on a mountain hill overlooking the entire Phoenix area—that’s the ‘wow’ factor we were looking for,” says Yi. The ceremony took place outside in an intimate courtyard, followed by a reception on an outdoor terrace overlooking the city as the sun set. The color palette of platinum gray, bright yellow and pale pink created an atmosphere of simple elegance, from the invitations to the bouquets. After the first dance, Yi changed into a traditional red Chinese qipao. “I was born and grew up in China, so Chinese tradition is very important to me,” she says. Yi and Matt sent their guests home with the gift of tea, something they both love and wanted to share with their loved ones.
