A Classic Vineyard Wedding at Sweet Cheeks Winery in Eugene, Oregon

With rows of countless vineyards surrounded by rolling hills speckled with evergreen trees, the outdoor space at Sweet Cheeks Winery in Eugene, Oregon, provided unlimited open space for this classic wedding. “The views are always breathtaking, and the ceremony, eating and dancing areas flow seamlessly together to make for a wonderful evening,” Erin Kitselman (30 and in real estate) says of her marriage to Kevin Danaher (31 and in marketing.) Joshua Rainey Photography captured the laid-back, simple style of the wedding Erin and Kevin had envisioned—achieved through the purple, gold and neutral palette combined with arrangements of tulips, stock, roses and daisies that served as the main decor, since little was needed because of the natural landscaping. At the ceremony on the venue's patio, Jennifer McNutt-Bloom helped plan the wooden wedding arch wrapped with white tulle, which had a stunning backdrop of the distant hillsides. The groomsmen matched Kevin with charcoal gray tuxedos and black ties, while the bridesmaids wore neutral-toned dresses in different styles that they picked themselves. At the reception, guests were seated at simple wooden tables decorated with lush flower arrangements seen throughout the day, and had artisanal cheeses, meats and crackers with a main entree of steak—paired with a great glass of wine, of course. We were charmed by the three-tier ivory wedding cake that was served at the end of the meal, which was accented with fresh flowers and topped with a gold sign that spelled “Love.” “We wanted our wedding to be about our friends as much as it was about us,” Erin says. “We were less worried about small details, and instead focused on the big picture.”
