A Classic Wedding at Lake Tyler Petroleum Club in Tyler, Texas
After planning their wedding for three years, Candace Polk (23 and a client-services associate) and Heath Polk (24 and a charcuterie specialist) knew they wanted a classic and romantic wedding that fit both of their personal tastes. “We took small details from the art-deco style and used those in our stationery and decor,” says the bride, who was inspired by a silver, gray and white color palette. Candace and Heath exchanged vows in the Chapel of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Tyler, Texas, the church they both attend and that fits their beliefs and style. “The element that reflected both of us as a couple was our reception location,” Candace says. “The Lake Tyler Petroleum Club was beautiful and classic, while still relaxed and fun. Having our first dance underneath the December night sky was by far my favorite moment.” Furthermore, “it was important to us that we served our favorite foods and let our menu really reflect what we enjoy,” Candace says. Dinner included a mix of classic Italian pastas and entrees, with a coffee bar to keep guests warm throughout the winter wedding. The couple also provided Bundt cakes in seasonal flavors, such as red velvet and gingerbread, in addition to their wedding cake, which was a combination of their favorite flavors: Italian creme and white chocolate raspberry.
