Shades of pink and white filled Genevieve Boyle (29 and a teacher) and Justin Brown's (29 and a law student) classic wedding in Lawrence, Kansas. They loved the romantic, timeless aura and gorgeously paired it with contemporary details—towering centerpieces and textured cakes—inspired by the Lawrence Arts Center. Since Genevieve and Justin met in Lawrence, it only made sense for them to get married in the charming town as well. Danforth Chapel on the University of Kansas campus was the perfect backdrop for their intimate, religious ceremony. They loved only having their 70 closets friends and family and the ceremony before joining the other 70 for the reception. A pianist played in the middle of the gallery while guests mingles and viewed the stunning artwork, which was absolutely the sophistication they were going for! Keeping with the classic theme of the wedding, Genevieve carried a small, round bouquet including peonies and roses down the aisle. Artful Parties And Design beautifully added subtle pops of pink for plenty of added romance.
The bridesmaids wore knee-length A-line pink dresses for the classic, romantic wedding. Genevieve loved the illusion neckline, satin sashes and the subtle detailing on the skirts. The David's Bridal gowns totally complemented her look too.
Guests were greeted to to the ceremony by this black-and-white sign that said, "As two families become one, we invite you to choose a seat, not a side." Not afraid to bring the outside in, the sign was decorated with a lush pine garland and two pink roses in the center to match the color palette.
Since Genevieve and Justin met at the University of Kansas, and share a mutual love for academics, it only made sense for them to get married on campus. It was an added bonus that Danforth Chapel provided an intimate, religious ceremony for their vows.

Genevieve found this stunning 'Lara' gown by Maggie Sottero at Ida's Bridal in Overland Park, Kansas. She loved the lace detailing, flowered sash, keyhole back and timeless train. It not only fit her vision for the day, but inspired a lot of the details like the textured wedding cake!
The reception tables were topped with light pink linens and towering centerpieces including green pine, pink lilies and white roses. Since Lawrence Art Center is really modern, they decided to use sleek details such as contemporary vases and mirrors to complement the room.
Genevieve and Justin loved the naturally sophisticated Lawrence Art Center and decided to keep their decor minimal so guests could enjoy the stunning artwork. They topped their reception tables with subtly striped pink linens and white paper lanterns to complement the space.
Genevieve and Justin wanted their four-tier wedding cake to combine the romantic feel of Genevieve's Maggie Sottero lace wedding dress with the contemporary aura of Lawrence Art Center. Bella Roca Cakes totally brought their vision to life with this pink and white confection. Each layer was decorated with different textures for a totally unique twist.
Bella Roca Cakes created Genevieve and Justin's four-tiered pink and white wedding cake for dessert. Inside it was vanilla almond while the outside was decorated with different textured buttercream on each layer. It definitely complemented their classic theme and contemporary venue.
