A Classic Wedding at Le Parker Meridien in New York, New York

In front of a cheering crowd on a rainy day in Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park in New York City, MJ Joanah and Conway Ekpo got engaged. The couple started planning their wedding right away, and knew they wanted to celebrate in the city they call home. “Conway and I have lived in New York City for years, and most of our family and friends had never been. We wanted to show them a glimpse of what New York City is about,” says MJ. The ceremony took place in Grace Church, followed by a penthouse reception in Le Parker Meridien. With a color palette of blush, gray, gold and white, the couple created an air of classic elegance and glamour. For their grand exit, the couple walked down an aisle of sparklers on a terrace overlooking Central Park. MJ offers her advice for brides-to-be: “Right before you walk down the aisle, take a moment and say to yourself, ‘This is happening.’ Make an effort to make eye contact with your family and friends as you walk down the aisle and then focus all your attention to your groom.”
