A Classic Wedding at Silverthorne Pavilion in Silverthorne, Colorado

Katie Long (23 and a personal banker) and Austin Long (25 and a civil engineer) met when Katie went to see the doctor. Austin was there picking up medicine for his little sister from his mother, who was working reception at the doctor’s office. Austin’s mom gave Katie Austin’s phone number, Katie texted him and the couple went to see a movie later that night. Austin proposed on a hike at Lake Marie. For their wedding, the couple chose Silverthorne Pavilion because it was close to their childhood homes and because they loved the elegant look of the space. Wanting to keep their wedding classic, they used a black-and-white color palette with pops of pink, silver and gold. They didn't want to compete with the natural beauty of the venue, so they kept their decor to a minimum. For the reception, Katie and Austin decorated the tables with their engagement photos inside mason jars, which were also filled with salts to look like snow. Since both of them had family they wanted to remember, they sat up a table filled with photos of those who couldn’t be there on their wedding day. At the end of the night, Katie and Austin sent guests home with hot chocolate and marshmallow favors to keep guests warm during the winter season.
