A Classic Wedding with Purple Details at The Inn at St. John's in Plymouth, Michigan
Although newlyweds Ashleigh Klimek (29 and a nurse) and Nathan Kleefisch (26 and a veteranarian) met while attending separate graduate schools, the two immediately fell into sync and began talking on the phone regularly while living long distance. "We spoke for three weeks before we finally met face to face!" Ashleigh says. "We ended up meeting at a restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and spent seven hours there, just talking, laughing and playing cards. It was the best first date, ever." For their summer wedding in Plymouth, the to-be-weds planned a purple wedding filled with personalized details at The Inn at St. John's. "We loved the ability for guests to enjoy themselves without having to leave the venue," the bride says. "The ceremony, reception and hotel were all in the same building!" After exchanging vows in front of 160 guests in the European-style chapel, the couple celebrated in the venue's atrium. "The setting was completely gorgeous!" says Ashleigh. Guests enjoyed dinner and dancing along with a photobooth and a customized cake centerpiece for each individual table. "The cake allowed guests to engage in conversation and enjoy dessert together," the bride says. "Our goal was for everyone to have fun – if the photos were proof, then they definitely did!"
