A Colorful Beach Wedding at Private Residence in Islamorada, Florida
Taking inspiration from the setting, including the water and plant life, Danielle Kachulis (28 and a business owner and property manager) and Mitch Ryan (32 and a financial adviser) accented their day with shades of blue, gold and magenta. The couple married on the beach of Danielle’s parents’ home. “We wanted to embrace the natural beauty of the Florida Keys and add a formal yet fun feeling to the celebration," Danielle says.
The reception décor incorporated Florida’s natural environment with the additions of hanging driftwood installations and arrangements with bromeliads and air plants. White string lights gave the tent a romantic glow, while the cake—a blue and white marbleized fondant confection with gold flakes—served as the reception centerpiece. “The dresses looked like the sky and the sea rolled into one,” the bride says of the blue floor-length bridesmaid gowns. Because Mitch is a fan of bright colors, Danielle opted for bold, playful florals. “I loved that the bouquets were asymmetrical and a bit wild.” Danielle had a heart-shaped piece of her mother’s wedding dress sewn into the inside of hers. “I had a part of her day with me on mine,” Danielle says. Wheels from Danielle’s dad’s railroad business were painted white and repurposed as a one-of-a-kind ceremony backdrop.
