A Colorful DIY Wedding at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kansas

Every part of Katie Krol (26 and a construction superintendent) and Travis Lilly's (31 and an appraiser) wedding had a handmade touch—from the kraft paper and lace invitations to the rustic reception decor. The couple tied the knot atop a scenic hill at Lazy T Ranch. While the bride and groom said "I do," guests enjoyed a view of the Kansas prairie lands. The couple invited guests to celebrate with dinner, drinks and dancing at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kansas. The bride enlisted the help of a few resourceful women, including her mother, aunts and friends, to create the centerpieces. Katie and her bridesmaids held hand-tied bouquets of daisies and wildflowers wrapped in twine; the spring blooms by Kistner's Flowers added a pop of color to the otherwise neutral palette. The bride, groom and wedding party processed through large handmade wooden barn doors, which brought a sense of intimacy to the vast open-air ceremony location. It was important to Katie and Travis that they alter ideas they found online and make them their own. The ring bearers carried signs that made guests chuckle (such as "Don't worry, ladies, we're still single!"), crafted from the same wood as the barn doors. There are so many more pretty details to see, and Sara Foote of Sara Marie Photography captured all of them, below. A tip from Katie: "Anything and everything can go wrong on your wedding day, but don't forget to enjoy it."
