A Colorful DIY Wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado

After attending over 150 weddings as a photographer with Elevate Photography, Katie Walker (28 and a photographer) had a difficult time choosing what she wanted her wedding with Chris Jones (30 and a teacher) to look like. She decided to toss tradition and take on an its-my-wedding attitude to create this totally amazing fete. Hues ranging from orange and yellow to raspberry and mint colored all the details and adorable pinwheel and bunting added plenty of whimsy. Katie and Chris enlisted the help of Mark Christopher Weddings and Events to flawlessly bring the eclectic details together. The real MVPs were the couple's family and friends, who helped create everything from the escort cards and centerpieces to dessert. One of our favorite details was how Katie and Chris incorporated all 170 of their guests into their day. Instead of a traditional unity ceremony, the couple printed thank-you cards with one large word written on one side and a more specific thank-you on the other. They started by thanking their parents personally, then asked everyone to hold up their cards revealing all the support they'd given the couple during their nine years together. "Love," "kindness," "courage," "honesty" and "joy" were just some of the words they chose. See all our favorite details, gorgeously captured by Elevate Photography, below.
