The wedding of Jaclyn Guerra and Chase Beck drew inspiration from their date, which happened to fall on Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). "Not only was this theme full of visual inspiration, but it helped us incorporate a personal element that was important to the both of us," Jaclyn says. "My husband's two siblings passed away at a young age, and a couple of years ago, his father passed away as well. This theme gave us the opportunity to have his family who couldn't be present on this special day still be a part of our celebration through framed pictures. I was also able to display pictures of my grandparents, an uncle and my dog who had passed away." The invitation suite introduced the theme with bright colors and skull designs—and that palette continued on the day of with pops of pink, red, blue, purple, green, orange and yellow. These shades appeared in Jaclyn's bouquet and flower crown; Chase's boutonniere, green suit and bow tie; the hand-painted fondant cake; the wedding party outfits; and the reception décor. Jaclyn and Chase both belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so they had a ceremony in the San Antonio Temple and a reception in the Pflugerville church building (which is also where they met.) "We had tissue paper flower garlands reminiscent of marigolds. We also had papel picado strung across the ceiling so the reception would feel like a Mexican market," Jaclyn says.  Lanterns and flowers adorned smaller tables, and Jaclyn's brother made a wood arch covered in paper flowers. Guests ate quesadillas, pan dulce and Mexican hot chocolate, and they also participated in a traditional dollar dance, where they paid to dance with the bride and groom.
