A Colorful, Rustic Wedding at Sharp Rock Vineyards in Sperryville, Virginia

Christie Blevins (30, environmental consultant) and Justin Gardner (32, carpenter) knew each other from high school but they didn’t really get to know each other until they were in college. One of their mutual friends was injured and in the hospital, and Christie and Justin kept bumping into each other in the hospital while visiting him during his recovery. Eventually, they began visiting their healing friend to see each other. They dated for seven years before Justin tried proposing to Christie during a visit to her family at Whitetop Mountain in Virginia. He kept trying to steal her away during the weekend but Christie was too distracted to notice, and during a bike ride through the mountains she kept ignoring Justin whenever he tried pulling over to a scenic overlook. Finally, he put his foot down and dragged her to an overhanging rock where he finally proposed to her. Justin and Christie decided to get married at Sharp Rock Vineyards in Sperryville, Virginia. Their bright, rustic wedding was full of personal details, including the customized playing card favors, the tree poster guest book and the engraved wood slab table numbers. The wedding party was dressed in neutrals, with the bridesmaids in lace overlay dresses and the groomsmen in olive suspenders and brown slacks. The ceremony was held outdoors at the beautiful vineyards, with views of the mountains. The tented reception was beautiful with burlap accents and purple and green floral decor. Justin and Christie ended the night by cutting their "cake," a tiered display of donuts provided by Carpe Donut of Charlottesville, Virginia. Their beautiful, vineyard wedding was charming, colorful and rustic.
