A Colorful, Traditional Wedding at Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Katy Simonis (33 and in marketing) and Gautam Ganguli’s (30 and in investing) wedding was the perfect combination of their relationship, tastes and styles, mixed with eye-catching decor. It all started with their ceremony at Mellon Park in Gautam’s hometown, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Picked for its resemblance to a secret garden, Katy and Gautam accented the space and its magnificent fountain with a birch wood chuppah as well as colorful arrangements of dahlias, greenery and lavender on every post. But what really caught everyone's attention was Katy's personalized vows, which reflected Gautam’s intense love of music, with live interludes of the “Friends” and “Game of Thrones” theme songs. (Since they watched the shows together, it couldn't have been sweeter.) They also participated in an Indian jaimala, a garland ritual during the nondenominational nuptials. "The thread that runs through never leaves the flowers, which represents the bond between us that will last forever," Katy says. Their reception had one other surprise in store: an incredible first dance at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that involved both a tango and waltz. "We managed to keep it a surprise from everyone," Gautam says. See every colorful detail designed by Natalie Berger and shot by Joey Kennedy, below.
