A Contemporary, Chic Wedding at Matrix Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta
Angela Wu (31 and a real estate agent) and Ryan Kemp (31 and a lawyer) met while attending university together. After Ryan jumped at the opportunity to work with Angela on a class project, their romance took off. Six years after dating, Ryan and Angela adopted a puppy together. Ryan wanted to include the new puppy in the proposal and decided to tie the engagement ring to its collar. He asked Angela to come see him and there he waited on one knee to propose. Ryan and Angela decided to have their wedding at the Matrix Hotel in Edmonton, AB. "The reason why we had chosen this hotel was because of its modern, contemporary and chic style," Angela says. Their color palette was purple and charcoal and was really evident throughout the day. Bridesmaids wore strapless, charcoal dresses carrying purple bouquets while groomsmen wore charcoal tuxedos. Bouquets were full of purple flowers with each bouquet being made with a different type of flower. Roses, orchids, calla lilies and mokaras were all used. Angela's mother passed away not long before the wedding and she really wanted to include her mother in her special day. She attached a picture of her mother to her bouquet. Ryan and her visited her mother at the cemetery leaving flowers that matched the ones used in the wedding. The reception was decorated with shades of purple and charcoal decor. Ryan and Angela made sure every touch of their day was a reflection of their wedding style.
