A Contemporary Coastal Wedding at The Cliff House in Cape Neddick, Maine
Ally Canario and Charlie Denault’s seaside wedding was a modern, romantic affair that paid tribute to the fall season and Maine’s coastal elegance.
“Since we got married in October along the cliffs of Maine, I wanted to incorporate rich, moody elements of fall and nautical New England touches,” Ally says. The color theme centered around shades of cranberry, navy, eucalyptus and touches of gold to achieve the whimsical, organic feel the couple was after.
With the Cliff House Resort offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic and Maine’s rocky coast, Ally and Charlie needed to add little in the way of decorative details. For the waterfront ceremony, the pair exchanged vows under a simple archway accented with soft burgundy blooms, and textured bundles of anemones, dahlias and cascading greenery graced the reception tables. Mussel shells Ally and Charlie collected from the beach served as the place cards to add a hint of coastal flair to the tablescapes.
“The most special moment was without a doubt our first look,” Ally says. “I’ll never forget the feeling of walking toward where Charlie was standing down on the cliffs looking out at the ocean. It was so special. It was also amazing to get many of the formal photos with our wedding party completed before our ceremony so we could all enjoy cocktail hour together.”
