A Contemporary-Meets-Rustic Wedding at Cellar One in Nashville, Tennessee
Suzie (27 and a paralegal) and Chris (30 and in management) had been dating for over three years when they got engaged in front of their first Christmas tree. "Overwhelmed by all of the craziness that the holiday season entails, I had no idea about his plan to propose!" says Suzie. "We were finally home and ready to relax after a day of running around visiting with family but Chris called me into the living room and asked me to pen my tiny stocking that was hung on the tree." After Chris got down on one knee, the pair took the next nine months to plan their fall nuptials at Cellar One in Nashville, Tennessee. "It's a small, but very unique event space consisting of an open air courtyard with ivy-covered brick walls and an old warehouse with stone walls perfect for entertaining," says Suzie. "We also loved being able to have our ceremony outside in the courtyard, but was still able to have an indoor dinner reception." The couple worked with a navy blue and champagne color scheme paired with an abundance of contemporary white orchid and tulip centerpieces. "Because our wedding was in September, we wanted darker colors, but not necessarily the typical 'fall colors,'" says Suzie. The newlyweds wanted to incorporate their favorite things throughout their rustic reception and decided to serve guests Mexican food with interactive taco and fajita and taco stations as a nod to their favorite cuisines. For a nontraditional dessert, Suzie and Chris ended the night with blue and white cake pops in a variety of flavors.
