A Courtyard Wedding at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel on Jekyll Island

Katie Anderson (27 and in sales) and Matt Sasser (32 and a dive master) met while training in the United States Air Force. The couple dated for three years before they were officially engaged but the "real" engagement happened two years early. "It happened in a no frills supermarket in Nebraska with a blue ring pop," says Katie. "But Matt designed the real engagement ring with my favorite color, purple, in mind. He chose a solitaire tanzanite setting with channel set diamonds for a clean look!" The couple exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel off the southern coast of Georgia, where Matt visited with family as a child. "We chose to have our wedding at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel because our guests could stay on the property and walk to all events," says Katie. "Crane Cottage, which included an outdoor formal garden facing the river for our ceremony, also had the perfect courtyard for our reception." A dark purple and silver color scheme added to their theme of 'reflection and sparkle" and DIY centerpieces added a personal feel. The courtyard's large iron gates were adorned with twenty-four inch K & M moss-covered letters, which served as a backdrop for the couple's sweetheart table. Dancing in the adjoining living room followed the seated courtyard dinner.
