The Riu Palace Resort Cabo San Lucas is an undeniably gorgeous spot for a destination wedding—what’s not to love about white sand beaches, a bright blue ocean and plenty of sun? Maria Elena Franco (28 and a teacher) and Maxwell Moya (28 and a police officer) had a modern wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, simply because they were looking for a beautiful spot to host their destination wedding. The ceremony took place looking out onto the Pacific Ocean at the resort’s Gazebo San Jose, which included the lasso tradition and a coin ceremony. Maria and Maxwell even hired a mariachi band to play during the ceremony and cocktail hour, a Mexico wedding must. Later, the party moved into the Baja Norte Courtyard, where the DJ kept the party going, even after it was time to call it a night. The couple’s favorite memory? Their first dance to "Every Time I Close My Eyes" by Babyface, the song Maxwell played for Maria the day they got engaged. “We both wanted an intimate, low-stress and fun wedding with our closest friends and family, and we got exactly what we wanted,” Maria says. “Cabo’s ambience is like no other. It definitely provided that stress-free, lively environment we were looking for.” See the details, beautifully captured by AnnaGomesPhoto, below.
